Multiphase flow measurement

Measure every well. Every hour. Without a separator.

The Nex Gen XX Series measures oil, gas, water and sand in a single in-line instrument, at 96% accuracy, with no test separator and no well routing. Continuous production data from every well on the pad, streamed live to the cloud.

  • Four phases measured
  • 96% accuracy
  • 0 to 100% GVF
  • Full-bore, non-intrusive

Why it matters

Most wells are estimated, not measured.

Scene 1 / 5

What is actually flowing?

Inside the line, oil, gas, water and sand move together as one stream. From outside the pipe, the split is invisible.

Better data changes the decision. Knowing water cut is climbing this week rather than next quarter is the difference between an intervention and a shut-in.

How the meter works

Two measurements, four answers.

A Venturi section gives total mass flow from the pressure drop across the throat. A measurement section reads the absorption spectrum across the flow to give the mass fraction of each phase. Together: four separate flow rates, updating continuously.

Scene 1 / 6

Mixed flow enters

Oil, gas, water and sand enter the meter as a single mixed stream. Nothing separates it and nothing protrudes into the flow.

Total mass flow

Flow accelerates through the Venturi throat and the differential pressure across it, together with line pressure and temperature, resolves total mass flow through the meter.

Phase fractions

Each fluid absorbs energy differently across the spectrum. Reading absorption at several energies gives more equations than unknowns, so the solver resolves all four mass fractions and cross-checks itself.

Four flow rates

Applying the fractions to total mass flow gives oil, gas, water and sand rates independently, at 96% accuracy, with no separation and nothing protruding into the flow.

How we work

From first enquiry to continuous measurement.

Workflow
  1. 01

    Enquiry and well review

You tell us the conditions: well type, line size, pressure, temperature, expected gas fraction, water cut and whether sand is anticipated. An engineer reviews it, not a sales desk. Where the picture is incomplete we ask the specific questions that matter rather than sending a brochure.

  2. 02

    Sizing and configuration

We specify the meter against your conditions: size, rating, materials, installation configuration and output requirements. You receive a configuration and an indicative commercial position, with the assumptions stated so you can challenge them.

  3. 03

    Supply or rental

Purchase outright, or rent for a defined campaign. Rental units are supplied calibrated and ready to run, with contract-hour tracking built in so the billing record and the engineering record are the same record.

  4. 04

    Installation and commissioning

Our engineers handle mechanical fit-up, power, communications and configuration against the actual fluid properties of the well. Commissioning ends with a verified baseline recorded in the platform, so any future drift has a defined starting point.

  5. 05

    Platform onboarding

The meter is registered, its QR code issued, alarm thresholds tuned to that specific well, user access set up and reporting configured. Tuning thresholds per well rather than applying a global default is what stops the alarm system becoming noise.

  6. 06

    Continuous monitoring

The meter reports continuously. Depending on the service level you choose, your team watches it, or ours does around the clock. Alarms are handled, configuration is adjusted as the well changes, and faults are diagnosed remotely. Field intervention happens only when hands are genuinely required.

  7. 07

    Reporting, maintenance and optimisation

Production reports generate automatically. PPM and annual calibration are scheduled and recorded against the serial number. Analytics trend the well and flag deviation. As the reservoir changes, the meter configuration changes with it.

Always on

A support desk that is awake when your wells are.

Our technical support team runs around the clock. Every request raised through the support portal becomes a tracked ticket with an owner, a priority and a response clock, so nothing depends on someone remembering to call back. Most issues are diagnosed and resolved remotely without anyone going to site.

For existing customers

Your data is already waiting for you.

Every Nex Gen meter reports into the gearOG cloud platform. Sign in from any browser to see live rates, cumulative production against your contract hours, open alarms, calibration history and generated reports. Each meter also carries a QR code: scan it at the wellhead and its live data opens on your phone.

Why Nex Gen.

01 / 04

One instrument, four phases.

Oil, gas, water and sand from a single full-bore device, with no separation stage and nothing protruding into the flow.

02 / 04

Stable across the full range.

A 0 to 100% gas mass fraction range with continuous sand detection, so the same meter stays valid as the well changes.

03 / 04

Annual calibration, not constant calibration.

The meter self-checks continuously and needs only standard industry calibration on an annual cycle.

04 / 04

Supported, not just supplied.

Installation, commissioning, 24/7 remote monitoring, rental and training from the same team that supplies the hardware.

Tell us about your wells.

Send us line size, pressure, temperature, expected gas fraction and water cut, and our engineers will come back with a specified configuration rather than a brochure.
